There are some moments in life that leave behind a quiet ache… a fleeting encounter that carves a lasting mark on the soul.
Anubhav Singh, an Intelligence Bureau agent—sharp, fearless, and emotionally distant—had lived a life where feelings never found space between missions and gunfire. No woman had ever stirred anything within him, not even a flicker of curiosity. But destiny had its own timing.
And on one ordinary yet extraordinary day, he felt something unusual. Something unknown. Something… human.
Since that brief encounter with her—Miss Haseena Malik—his thoughts were no longer his own. They wandered, helplessly, relentlessly… back to her.
That day, Anubhav and his IB team were on their way to raid a drug smuggling racket hidden in the outskirts of Lucknow. It was a critical mission. The location—an abandoned factory surrounded by thick silence—was still miles away when they got the intel.
On the other side of the city, Haseena Malik—SHO at Mahila Police Thana and known for her unshakable courage—had wrapped up another hectic day. Tired of the noise in both her life and mind, she took her usual escape route: a drive to the mountains overlooking the city skyline.
But fate had different plans.
As she passed through the deserted roads leading to her peaceful cliff, something caught her sharp eyes—suspicious men unloading boxes into the very factory that had been closed for years.
Her instincts kicked in.
She parked her vehicle at a distance and followed the men inside, phone on silent, every move precise. What she discovered confirmed her suspicions—drugs, illegal activity, damning conversations. She recorded everything and immediately sent it to the Commissioner.
Commissioner :
“Do not engage until backup arrives,” he warned firmly. “There are too many. We can’t risk you. You are one of our best.”
She agreed… until she overheard a conversation that changed everything.
Criminals :
“IB walon ko khabar lag gayi hai… sab maal truck mein dalo aur bhaag jao… kuch time underground ho jao.”
Her senior told her to wait.
Her conscience didn’t let her.
She acted. Alone.
She risking her own life—for her nation's duty immediately took action.
Fists, bullets, bruises.
She fought with all her might, unwilling to let criminals slip into the darkness again.
And when Anubhav and the Commissioner arrived with the full force, they found the impossible—goons unconscious, their leader handcuffed, and Haseena… bleeding but victorious.
Anubhav stood still, mesmerized.
Not just by her courage.
But by something else.
Something that unsettled the stone-cold stillness inside him.
Haseena then moved towards commissioner sir...
hm : “jai hind sir..”
cs seeing her injured concernly :
“jai hind.. miss malik maine apko—“
But couldn't complete as anubhav came towards them as he wanted to meet this lady who has all alone caught this drug smugglers...
hm : “jai hind sir.. ap shyd ib se hai..!”
as : “ jai hind... ji hum ib agent anubhav singh. par apko kese pata hum ib se hai?”
hm : “wo humne ek gunde ko uske boss ko kehte howe suna tha ke—IB team yaha raid marne wali hai toh isliye hume laga ap ib se honge..”
anubhav nodded understandingly..
cs concernly :
“miss malik humne apko action lene se mana kiya tha na—apki jan ko khatra hosakta tha...”
hm :
“ sir hum apka order follow hi kr rahe the par achanak jab uss gunde ne ib team aane wali hai inform kiya toh uss boss ne sabko” (and said that conversation between boss and his goon) “ aur ye log bhagkar underground na hojaye isliye humne turant action leliya...”
cs :
“miss malik par apne inke khilaf evidence toh hume already bhej diye the na toh ye log bhag bhi jate toh humlog inhe badme pakad lete—der se hi sahi par insaaf zaroor hota atleast ap itni injured toh nahi hoti...”
hm :
“sir der se mila insaaf bhi toh nainsafi hi kehlata hai. aur wese bhi ye toh mamoli chotain lagi hai hum theek hai...”
cs :
“ isliye pura police department apko best officer manta hai. hume garv hai ke ap jaisa officer humare dept mai hai.”
as :
“ sahi kaha apne.. aise officers jo apni jan ke pehle desh ke bare mai sonche boht kam dekhe ko milte hai—aur hume bhi garv hai ke ap jaisa officer abhi bhi desh ki hifazat ke liye humesha maujood hai.”
Hm thanked both cs and anubhav..
Her phone started vibrating—she checked who was calling...
hm :
“theek hai sir. phir hum chalte hai...”
cs :
“miss malik hum apko hospital lekar chalte hai apko first aid ki zaroorat hai—aur kal ke din ki apki chutti sanction krdete hai..”
hm politely refused :
“thank you sir.. par hum theek hai. hum chale jayenge— aur chutti ki zaroorat nahi hai mamoli si chotain hai— and once again thank you for your concern.”
cs :
“theek hai par khyal rakhiyega apna aur dhyan se drive kijiye ga..”
hm : “ ji sir.. jai hind...”
cs : “ jai hind...”
(commissioner was an aged man for whom haseena was like his daughter as he has seen her bravery and determination for duty since she joined police force)
haseena then saying jai hind to anubhav too—left towards her car, while picking the call as the caller was continously calling.
And it was her mami's call for shouting and saying her harsh words as she wasn't still home for completing their house chores—The call finally ended and by the time she also reached towards her car.
she was opening the door but stopped as she heard someone calling her name...
as : “miss malik.”
As haseena stopped—anubhav moved towards her running immediately.
And haseena turned to see who has called her and saw anubhav coming towards her running..
anubhav breathless, as he ran so fast :
“miss.. malik.. wo..”
hm :
“ ek min sir pehle ap” (and then opened her car door and gave him a bottle of water) “ thoda pani pijiye.”
as thanking her took the bottle and drank some water and relaxed...
hm :
“ji sir ab bataiye araam se—apko kuch kaam tha humse?”
as fumbling, while caressing his hairs :
“ wo.. kaam.. toh nahi.. tha.. wo bass hum apko puchna chahte the ke..”
hm politely : “ ke.?”
as said in one go :
“ kya hum apko hospital lekar chal sakte hai—aur uske baad apko apke ghar chod sakte hai...?”
hm politely refused :
“thank you sir puchne ke liye.. par hum chale jayenge..”
as concernly : “ par apko kafi chot lagi hai..”
haseena's phone again ringed with mami's call—ofcourse it would be for some work as always because she never calls her worrying about her.
she politely said : “ hum theek hai sir.. thank you for asking—abhi hum chalte hai... jai hind..”
as : “ jai hind...”
haseena then left and anubhav kept looking at her car till it went far away from his eyes...
Anubhav while driving towards his house his thoughts were filled with haseena—even after he reached house, freshened up, lied on bed to sleep.
But sleep was far away from his eyes...
anubhav :
“ kya hogaya hai hume— hum miss malik ko apne zehan se nikal kyu nahi parahe hai.!”
“ kyu baar baar unhi ka khyal araha hai, aisa toh pehle kabhi kisi ke saath humne mehsoos nahi kiya—aur hume unki itni fikar kyu horahi hai.”
“ aur toh aur, hum pagalo jese unke piche bhage—taki unki achi si first aid karakar unhe sahi salamat unke ghar drop krsake.”
“unki chotain dekhkar hume kyu itni takleef horahi thi.! aur hum jab unke saath nahi ja paye toh hume itna dukh kyu howa.? itni zyada fikar aur parwa toh humne kabhi apne pehchaan wale logo ke liye nahi mehsoos kiya jitna hum unse pehli baar milkar unke liye krne lage hai.”
“ aur ye pata nahi jabse unhe pehli baar dekha hai kya mehsoos horaha hai— aisa kuch toh humne kabhi kisi ke liye mehsoos nahi kiya.!”
Will they ever meet again?
or this was there first & last meet..!?
